2015 Season in Review
To all Saanich Lacrosse families,
With August around the corner it signals the end of one season of box lacrosse and the beginning/planning for a new season.
With the 2015 season at a close, it seemed a good time to recap the successes the association enjoyed this past season. Special shout-out to our PeeWee B team who captured Gold at the provincial championships!
- We had a total registration of 283 players
- We fielded a total of 18 teams – 3 mini-tyke, 3 tyke, 3 novice, 3 peewee, 3 bantam, 2 midget and 1 bantam female team
- Mini-tyke
- It was all about fun and an introduction to the game and all three teams enjoyed fun seasons
- A combined team made up of kids from all three teams participated in the Vic-Esquimalt Buccaneers Day Jamboree
- Tyke
- One-third of the players were brand new to lacrosse which is a great trend we want to see continued in the coming years
- Two of the three tyke teams participated in the Parksville Shark Attack Jamboree
- All three teams played in the Father’s Day tournament in Peninsula
- Novice A
- Bronze at Bellie Bowl (New West)
- Most Sportsmanlike team at Jack Crosby Tournament (Burnaby)

We want to also take this opportunity to thank all the coaches, assistant coaches and managers for all our teams in 2015. Without your tireless efforts in helping coach our young players and run our teams, we wouldn’t be in a position to provide such a great opportunity for our players to learn a sport and have fun. Saanich Lacrosse thanks all of you for your commitment and dedication!
All in all, a season to be proud of and we are looking forward to another great year in 2016.
Sincerely,
Saanich Lacrosse Executive
