2013 President’s Message

To All Players, Coaches, Volunteers and Fans;

Welcome to another year of Tigers Lacrosse!

One of our goals as we approached the 2013 season was to get the ball rolling early in regards to registration and coaching appointments. As an Executive it was a priority for us to do as much as we could during the off season as we geared up for the New Year.

We have moved to an entirely on-line registration system, including payment. Generally feedback has been positive; certainly from an administrative point of view it has been the way to go! One negative effect of the change was to our Tiger Gear clothing sales which were down last year. Many of us made it a tradition to purchase a hoody, a T-shirt or a hat when we dropped in to register. Although this opportunity has been lost, through our website it is as easy as an email to shop for the newest and coolest items. Registration opens January 1st, 2013!

Coaching applications are now being accepted on-line. Check the SLA website for information.

Goalies will also be pleased to hear that we have made a significant investment in new uppers and leg pads for this coming season. It is important to remember that we are happy to provide the best equipment for our athletes but we expect in return that that the gear is treated with care!

As always, I would like to take a moment to acknowledge and thank all of our volunteers; coaches, managers and Executive members. The success of Saanich Lacrosse is directly related to the time and effort which is given by everyone involved. Are you interested in helping out? Contact any of your Executive members for information. Look for dates and times for coaching and refereeing clinics as they are planned.

We will be utilising email blast and website based communication regularly. Keep an eye out for information and updates including announcements of upcoming events including our 2013 AGM which will be held next Fall.
