Saanich Lacrosse April Update
As the pandemic continues into 2021, the Saanich Lacrosse Association is grateful that players continue to have the opportunity to play lacrosse. Over the last month, players and parents should thank themselves for the outstanding work following COVID safety protocols.
In early March, the prospect of Phase 3, which would allow game play, was expected to be introduced after Spring Break. The rapid rise in BC COVID cases has reduced the prospects of game play in the immediate future, however, the association continues to plan for some form of game play.
2021 PROPOSED GREATER VICTORIA LACROSSE – GAME PLAY MODEL
The Greater Victoria Lacrosse Associations thank everyone who provided feedback on the proposed Game Play Model. The four associations were well represented in the feedback. The feedback was generally split between strong support and strong dissent. The lack of clear direction left the four associations unable to pursue this model.
2021 REGISTRATION FEES
The Executive recognizes that full registration fees were collected for the 2021 season. This was done in anticipation of a full season, following on the heels of the successful Phase 3 Field Lacrosse season. The Executive has set aside funds to provide a pro-rated refund at the end of the season, should lacrosse remain in the phases which do not require the usual season costs, such as arena floor time, referees, etc.
50th ANNIVERSARY HOODIES
To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Saanich Lacrosse Association, each player will receive a hoodie. The Executive is excited to present the anniversary logo and a traditional crest connecting the 50 years of the association.
