It has been brought to the attention of the Canadian Lacrosse Association (CLA) that the Under Armour Pro Box Lacrosse Cage Face Mask is being falsely advertised as being “CLA Approved” and claiming to “meet CSA standards”.

The CLA would like to clearly state that as of February 27, 2014 the Under Armour Pro Box Lacrosse Cage Face Mask is NOT CSA-approved and therefore is not legal for use per CLA policy 12.4.2. The CLA has confirmed that although Under Armour is in the process of obtaining CSA approval, there are a number of components missing and therefore the certification has not been granted.

The CLA does not approve facemasks for lacrosse. The CLA endorses facemasks that are approved by the CSA.
