The Saanich Lacrosse Association is hosting an information session for individuals interested in becoming a referee. Referees and shot clock personnel are essential in order to play the game and we are encouraging all individual 13 years and up to come and learn more.

Join Head Referee, Ryan White and Referee Allocator, Jan Malinosky, on:

Monday, February 18th
5:30 – 7:00pm
Braefoot Community Centre (upstairs boardroom)

Ryan and Jan will be at this session to talk about the benefits of refereeing, answer questions, explain the certification process and the mentoring program. We are looking to recruit individuals who are 13 or older and no prior experience with the game of lacrosse is required.

Anyone with any interest at all is encouraged and more than welcome to drop in. Refreshments will be provided.

A note from Head Referee:

My life would not be as enjoyable, or nearly as full, if I didn’t referee and the sport has been very, very good to me. I encourage anybody thinking about taking a referee course to sign up and keep an open mind of the many wonderful things that refereeing can bring to your life.

Saanich Recreation Survey

Saanich Recreation is conducting a market analysis of their programs, services and facilities.

The Saanich Lacrosse Executive participated in the stakeholder sessions which the report was built upon. Page 25 and 41 of the report speak to the demand from sports such as lacrosse for dry floor time.

As members of the Saanich Lacrosse Association, you are encouraged to complete the online survey, open until February 24th, and let Saanich know that you support more arenas and dry floor space. A suggestion for Q. 10 is to provide a short sentence on Saanich needing more dry floor arena time. Follow the link below to the survey.

Thanks,

Saanich Executive
