News and Announcements

Hello Saanich Lacrosse players, parents and coaches.

It is hard to believe but the box lacrosse season is not far away. One of the biggest challenges every season for Saanich Lacrosse is finding enough volunteers to fill our coaching vacancies. The past few seasons have been a tremendous challenge for the association to ensure we could find enough coaches to ensure all our players had a place to play.

In an effort to try and reduce the impact of looking for coaches right before the season starts, we are sending this email out to solicit interest in coaching this season for Saanich Lacrosse. We are looking for anyone interested in head coaching or assisting. Putting your name forward does not imply a 100% commitment at this point but provides us with an opportunity to start to compile a list of people interested in coaching or assisting, and begin to gauge whether the numbers are in line with our registration or not. It is also important to note that indicating an interest at this stage will have absolutely no impact on where a player is placed or what level they play, as that is determined through the evaluation process. Many of you may also know family or friends that may be keen to give something back to lacrosse and be willing to help coach. By all means, please feel free to forward this email to anyone you think might be interested.

This season we will be implementing an application form to help gather the relevant information for all our coaching volunteers. If you are interested in head or assistant coaching in the 2013 season, please complete the Coaching Application which can be found on the Saanich Lacrosse website under the Coaches Corner section of the site.

Once completed, please email the completed form to prior to January 15, 2013. All coaching applications will be reviewed by the Saanich Lacrosse Executive and from that review, coaching assignments will be determined.

Saanich Lacrosse is also currently looking to fill the executive position of Head Coach. If you, or someone you know may be interested in this position, please have them contact

We hope you are looking forward to a great 2013 lacrosse season and see you soon!

SAANICH TIGERS BANTAM B WIN BRONZE at the 2012 BCLA Bantam Lacrosse Provincials.

A great effort by the Bantam team! They played some great lacrosse & made our parents proud. They won the final game against the Surrey Rebels 9-5.

Jackson Boyd was named the Provincial Tournament MVP & received a trophy, warrior bag, shirt & lacrosse stick. Great player who definitely worked hard at every game & deserved this recognition.
