News and Announcements
The Saanich Lacrosse Executive is pleased to announce that the coaching assignments for all ‘A’ level teams in our competitive divisions have been determined. The Executive wishes to thank and acknowledge all the qualified candidates that put their names forward, as there were multiple applicants across all divisions.
The focus of the Executive will now turn towards compiling additional coaching candidates for our ‘B’ and house level teams across all divisions. If you are interested in any of these spots, please contact either of the competitive division VP’s – Glen Manns or Rauvy Dalep or our Head Coach – Grant Pepper (all contact info available on the web site).
The head coaches for each divisional ‘A’ team are in the process of completing their full coaching roster for approval and all should be in place shortly.
We are excited to announce the following head coaches:
Novice – Dave Bremner
PeeWee – Ken Passfield
Bantam – Roy Banner
Midget – Ravi Dhillon
The season is fast approaching and if you have any questions as it nears, please do not hesitate to contact any of the Executive.
We are looking forward to a great 2014 season!

UVIC Div of Medical Sciences will be holding a unique concussion awareness night in March (see attached poster) and would like to invite players, parents, coaches and managers from your association to attend the event. The goal is to educate these groups about concussions by providing expert points of view from athletic therapists, general practitioners, neurologists, neuropsychologists, and researchers as part of a fun and informative evening. We’ll also be making some announcements regarding enhanced accessibility to concussion assessment tools and ThinkFirst/Parachute at the event. We hope you can help us to advertise this event and look forward to seeing you there.

As the box lacrosse season is fast approaching, the following ice-breaker sessions have been scheduled to allow an opportunity for players to throw the ball around and get ready for the season. Please note that these sessions are optional and are in no way part of the evaluation process.
The sessions are open to all players in the divisions listed below. Returning players to Saanich Lacrosse must be registered for the 2014 season in order to take part. If you have any friends that have not played lacrosse before and would like to try it, they may contact Rauvy Dalep at email@example.com to make arrangements to take part prior to registration.
Space is limited for all sessions so you must RSVP to Rauvy Dalep at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a spot. If you are interested in playing goalie, please indicate as such in the RSVP to arrange gear to be brought to the session. Full gear is required for all players.
All sessions will be held at the Pearkes Fieldhouse:

· Feb. 9 from 6:00pm – 7:15pm
