| U11 | 2016-2017 |
| U13 | 2014-2015 |

| U17 | 2010-2011 |
| U22 (Female Only) | 2005-2009 |
The Association plans to create two teams of 18 runners and two goalies from U11 through U17 age divisions. The Association will establish a waitlist once it reaches 36 runners and four goalies in each age group.
There may be instances where there are sufficient numbers and coaches to create three teams at one age group. Otherwise, the Association will explore oversized rosters or releases to other associations. Releases are an absolute last resort because player retention is a main focus of the Association.
The Association will create one to three teams at U7 and U9 age groups depending on registration. The Association prefers teams of 10-12 players to maximize floor time given these divisions use the 3 vs 3 cross game format. The Association will establish at waitlist at U7 should it reach 20 players and at U9 should it reach 30 players. That said, the Association always does it best to include any new player to the sport.
Please note that registration is not first come, first serve.
Families can review the Registration Policy for more information.
Female players have the option to register in coed programs hosted by Saanich or female teams hosted under a Combination Team Agreement with the Victoria-Esquimalt Lacrosse Association (VELA). Females playing on a coed team have the option to "play over" for a limited number of games throughout the season, subject to Commission rules.
Saanich players wishing to play in VELA's female program are still required to register through Saanich's RAMP system. However, they will select the appropriate female registration package rather than a coed one (e.g., U17 Female, etc.). The Association will provide the necessary registration information and transfer funding to VELA in accordance with the Combination Agreement.
Please note that VELA sets the fees for female divisions based on its operational requirements. There may also be supplemental costs (e.g., fundraising fees, equipment fees, clothing fees, etc.) once teams are formed.
Please contact victoriawomensboxlacrosse@gmail.com if you have further questions.
It is common for players to relocate to the Capital Region to attend high school specialty, challenge or academy programs. It is very important the Association is aware of these registrants so it complies with British Columbia Lacrosse Association (BCLA) and Vancouver Island Minor Lacrosse Commission (Commission) registration rules. Associations are accountable for following proper registration procedures and risk discipline for non-compliance.
Players that a) do not have a permanent address in the Association's catchment and b) played for a different minor box lacrosse association in the 2025 season are required to register with their home association and seek a release. This typically applies to students billeted for the school year with host families. The Commission reviews each release request and places players in different associations based on specific circumstances.
Players that were released and played for Saanich in 2025 must still seek a release from their home associations for the 2026 season if they have not relocated to the catchment permanently. Players that receive releases in two consecutive seasons will be deemed to be the property Saanich for the remainder of their minor lacrosse careers after that time.
The Association encourages families to seek a release as early as possible because players cannot participate in evaluation activities without Commission approval.
There are four components to registration fees: Canada Lacrosse Association (CLA) membership fees; BCLA membership fees; Commission fees; and, Association operational costs. Here is a breakdown of fees for governing bodies for 2025 and 2026.
| Organization | 2025 | 2026 | Difference | Increase |
| CLA | 15.00 | 30.00 | 15.00 | +100% |
| BCLA | 39.00 | 42.00 | 3.00 | +8% |
| Commission | 15.00 | 15.00 | 0.00 | 0% |
| Total | 69.00 | 87.00 | 18.00 | +26% |
Here are the 2026 registration fees taking into account new administrative fees and Association operating costs.

| U7 | 126.00 |
| U9 | 315.00 |

The RAMP registration system enables online payments and tracking. This is something that was unavailable under the previous BC Lacrosse Association registration system. The Association set up a merchant account using Sportspay, an online payment service integrated into both the RAMP website and registration system. This gives the Association the ability to process credit card payments at the time of registration (and soon for clothing through a Team Store).
The Association recognizes this is a departure from previous years when members registered and then sent transfers afterwards. The previous approach was labour intensive and relied on manual payment tracking. The automated approach simplifies payment tracking and ensures the Association receives revenues prior to the start of evaluations.
Financial Assistance Programs
The registration system will also have an option to select Kidsport or Jumpstart if a family anticipates seeking financial assistance to play. This will enable a family to register a player without using the credit card payment option. This will also alert the Registrar to follow up with the family once the application process is complete.
Families with Three or More Players
The Association will charge the family for the two most expensive registrations. Each player after the second will pay the U7 fee which covers CLA, BCLA and Commission fees as well as the Association's administrative costs. Families with three or more players should contact the Registrar prior to starting the registration process to get additional information.
Other Considerations
Players in U11 and higher must be properly registered and either have a) fees paid in full or b) application confirmation for a sponsorship program (e.g., Jumpstart, Kidsport) before they can attend evaluation sessions.
Registration fees covers the Association's cost to provide its program (i.e., facilities, logistics, coaching, equipment, operations, etc.). It is common for teams to collect additional fees during the season to offset team-specific costs (e.g., tournaments, team swag, team events, etc.) separate from registration fees.
IMPORTANT: The Association understands cost of living is concern for many. It does not want financial circumstances to prevent someone from playing.
Please contact registrar@saanichlacrosse.com if you need assistance with one of the sponsorship programs or have general registration questions. The Association may also consider staged payments if necessary.
Players will require Saanich shorts for league games. As noted, the Association intends to set up a Team Store through its website that will enable families to order different clothing and gear items. More information will be provided in the New Year.
Female Players will require VELA shorts if they do not have them already. VELA will provide additional clothing order information after registration and payment is complete.
